Tidö Castle — Attraction in Västerås kommun

The castle is beautiful and well worth the detour we took to get there from the main highway. The inside was closed, but there was plenty to see just walking around the grounds. Lots of cool ruined buildings around the main castle, some nice statues, monuments, old cannons, and large oak trees. We even saw a few rabbits! The exterior of the castle is impressive but a little dilapidated- and was not open to visitors at the time of our visit. The motorcycle museum is open and is well worth a visit. It has so much more on the inside than would seem possible from the outside. Educational and inspiring. Tidö Castle is still used as a residence, but during the summer season the castle's state apartment is shown with a guide. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
