Ystad Zoo — Attraction in Ystads kommun

We enjoyed our visit here. The zoo was compact and didn't have many animals that typically attract fanfare, e.g., big five, large predators, and rare animals. Expect instead lots of goats, horses and cows. Nevertheless, the collection appeared nicely varied and insightfully shown (although conservation status was not consistently displayed), and the animals seemed to be in good care. I especially loved the surrounding landscape that blends well with the habitats, such as the open plains where the goats and alpacas roam freely. Public transport running from Ystad city to the zoo was a little sparse when we visited so make sure to plan in advance if that's how...

Very nice zoo, perfect for toddler (below 5) because it is not super big size zoo yet its enough for them to see zebra, monkey, sheep, cow, pig, chicken (basic animals). Riding a pony its a plus too! It cost 30sek (cash)/round. There’s also some playground, and cafe.

Our complaint is only that the outdoor cafe area flooring is made from small stones which was quite irritated because not only its hard to push our stroller. The small kids are busy playing the stones (playing also meaning throwing the stones everywhere). Photo cafe area: with...

Perfect place to take a three year old to meet pigs 🐖 turtles 🐢 and zebra's 🦓 for the first time in her life. Extremely happy outing she now takes her stuffed animals and places them around the house pretending she is at the animal park.

The park itself is one giant ring with several playgrounds and a cafe near the entrance.

Best to bring your own food and enjoy one of the many benches near the animals but you can buy a simple lunch here or a coffee ☕ or cake 🍰.
