Wasserschloss Hagenwil — Attraction in Amriswil

This medieval castles sits in the Hagenwil village ,it's surrounded by a lake it was even has a elevation bridge ! It's really gorgeous , looks like it was restored but not intended as museum but as restaurant ,that's where it kinda failed to me ,because I was expecting to visit the castle as museum ,you can cross the bridge ,enter and visit some surrounding but that's all ,this castle really looks nice and from a distance makes some great landscape photos !

Geburtstagsessen meines Mannes. Netter Kontakt vorab betr. Reservation. Freundliche Begrüssung und nett gedeckter Tisch. Soweit alles gut. Relativ kleine Karte - war für uns aber nicht relevant. Vorspeise gut, wenn auch etwas teuer. Hauptgang überhaupt nicht o.k. Wir bestellten Fleisch medium/rare. Serviert wurde medium/ durch. Nach Reklamation kam das Entrecote extrem dünn, zäh durch und durch mit Fasern, die nicht essbar waren und dies blutig ( besser als durch aber nicht so bestellt). Die Beilagen: Nudeln weich verkocht und kühl, Portion sehr mager, Tomate kalt und ebenso die 2 Pilze. Positiv waren die höflichen, freundlichen Reaktionen der Serviertochter, des Kochs und des Chefs. Wir erhielten kulanterweise das Dessert gratis. Nichts desto trotz steht das preisliche Niveau in keinem Verhältnis zur Qualität der Speisen (ohne Dessert 198.50!) Offener Wein (allerdings gut) 1/2 Liter 51.00! Hier wäre die entsprechende Info Seitens Personal vorab nötig gewesen. Fazit: nette Lokalität aber das Geld...

I was there today for a birthday party and really the food was amazing. I especially loved the wine soup the flavours were just perfect. I also loved the homemade schaumwein that we had for apero. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. I was happy to discover this place for thr first time and can't wait to go back....
