Read moreThis is an engineering masterpiece located close to Filisur train station along the narrow guage scenic railway track from chur to tirano where the Bernina express panoramic train operates. Regular trains run at 58th and 1st minute of evey hour. In addition Bernina express crosses this four times a day. There are 3 points to view this viaduct. Most popular place is the base of the viaduct. There is a car park located about 300m away from the viaduct close to the main road. Car park can be easily reached from Filizur station. After walking about 100m along station access road until the first bend to the left, there are two roads to your right with a trail sign board. Take the downhill path. This will take you to car park along the slope of the mountain. From car park there is a prominent gravel road to the base.
On this path there is a wooden bridge. Passing this there is a steep uphill foot path to the left next to a sign board. This foot path will take you to the north platform which provides a stunning birds eye view of the viaduct.
While coming down from the station to car park along the foot path, on the way there is a foot path to your right. This foot path takes you to the south platform. This gives an eye level view...

I even stood in the breezeway where I could pull the window down not to have reflection. After riding the most sought after train journeys circling Switzerland the past 2 weeks, this landwasser viaduct, although beautiful, (and with high expectations going in after all the hype) I felt it was a bit underwhelming. There are so many other incredible routes that will leave you breathless throughout the country, my biggest advice from all this is don’t stress about the seats and expensive train rides, they are all on the...
