We go here mostly in the spring when the snow slowly retracts and the first crocuses and gentians break through the soil. This usually happens during the first week of May. Early June you may find morels among the rich alpine flower beds if you look carefully. On the upper part of the road down into the canton of Berne towards Boltigen there is a good eatery on your left hand side with view over the valley and where you can play your favourite music from the past century on their authentic juke box.

A beautiful drive with gorgeous vistas. Do stop at the local bakery in the village of Jaun. They offer many artisanal and regional foods and a nice selection of breads.
