I came here at the end of the afternoon the last Saturday of April 2024. At a first glance there were the ordinary geese, ducks, egrets, herons and cormorants. A true birder told me to look northwest and that made my day. A couple of ibises just beside the cormorant colony! They groomed till one of the buzzards residing in the area landed on a branch above them and made them fly away.

I have been going there almost every day , every season and weather for the last 5 years, it's about 500 meters away from where I live , my all time favorite destination for my daily walk. It's beautiful and peaceful there .

Ici, il faut venir pendant une période de migration, ce lieu de passage au pied du Jura étant bien orienté; le manque d'oiseaux indigènes s'explique par le fait que cette oasis, isolée en pleine zone agricole empoisonnée par les pesticides et engrais, est pratiquement dépourvue d'insectes; ce 27 juillet, je n'ai vu que 3 Foulques, 2 Colverts, 2 Grèbes huppés, un Cormoran et un Héron pourpré! sinon encore quelques Hirondelles et Milans survolaient la plaine de l'Orbe.
