🦌🐑🐄🐎 Great Weekend Spot in Zurich | Wildlife Park

Nice hike + wild animals. It's nice each animal has its own space which is not small (compared to classic zoo). Nice playground for kids (2 of them actually), plenty of areas for barbecue and woods are provided (bring paper /lighter / matches). You pay for parking (10 CHF) and then other things are free. Lots of parking space is available BTW. We went 2 days in a row. Park is closed by 16:10 (part where Elch and Fox are) and by 16:30 (part where restaurant/hotel are). I do think one can stay longer for grill and for restaurant / bar / hotel. I'd also expect playground would remain open, but this is based on my first visit when we stayed on playground until cca 16:45. P. S. Have coins with you for parking or get Park Pay application (I paid with latter without issues).

The park is free, and a short walk from the S4 train station, which I utilized via Swiss Travel Pass. The park was about a half an hour away from Zurich. The park also offers multiple parking lots as well. I visited during the mid November, and I had no expectation to be able to see any animals (per another google review) as the great portion of the park was under renovation. However, I still got to see mice (uggh, I do not recommend - it stunk), boars, moose, mongolian horses, and last but not least, the bear! I was so excited to see the bear that was less than 50 ft away from an observation deck. I love that this park provides an ample amount of space for the animals in the park. Much more humane than a zoo, and I would totally visit again!

This wildlife park is an amazing place to visit, I was so amazed that it was free entry to look around the entire place. The animal enclosures were very well planned to make the animals feel like they are in the wild (lots of space to run, climb and forest areas within each enclosure) and the forests that the walking trails are in is so beautiful. The actual park is huge and is over both sides of the road. Overall it doesn’t feel anything like a zoo, just seeing animals in their natural habitat, the animals all look really well feed, the buildings are well-designed, there is lots of picnic areas, a fire pit stove to cook on, a gift shop and the cafe with delicious hot cooked food. If I lived in Switzerland I would come...
