Very beautiful family friendly trip. When you arrive in Zug, just take the bus no 3 (to Baar, Paradise), then take a nice walk along the river. It will take you around 45 minutes to reach the caves, however, if you walk along the left bank (cross the river first), you may want to stop for a picnic (there are a few spots for BBQ, just bring your own wood and accessories, such as BBQ sticks). If you don't enjoy picnics, you can have a meal in a nice wooden restaurant just before you reach the caves. Restaurant even has a small playground area for kids.
Caves are beautiful, not too big and definitely worth seeing. I come from the country with many many caves so it was not surprising for me but people who have never been to caves, will be astonished. On the way back we took the walk along the other side of the river, that is faster as you walk on the road all the time.
The trip is great tip for hot summer days as you walk in the shadow most of the time and once you hit the caves, they provide cool stable and refreshing low temperature. I had a light jacket with me, didn't need it, just wear good shoes as here and there you may step into a small puddle.

Read moreThe caves are beautiful and exciting with small lakes inside. It's very well-preserved and small ligths placed in the right corners contributes to a great experience. I enjoyed the walk and views so much. It's like another world in there. A bit spooky if you only go by yourself though. The route is made so you go through a cave, out in the sunligt, and then back into another cave. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area! There are info signs on the way explaining about the caves and what to look for. Maybe you find the fern growing...
