Schloss Wart — Attraction in Neftenbach

Castle Wart, charming and rather mysterious. For a second felt like stepping back through time into past centuries. Gates were open, so I entered, motivated to politely ask is it possible to see the castle interior, but no one was there to greet me except a cat, with a touch of royalty in her attitude..:) Castle has an obviously active vineyard. Near the castle is Neftenbach Museum with a bistro, down the hill is big fenced area - Stall Cleisberg (horses). Castle has a view on the complete area of Pfungen city. There passes beautiful river Toss, with a walking path, story of its own. The complete area is absolutely lovely and its worth a pleasant daily walk....

Mitten am Irchelsüdhang, zwischen Dättlikon und Neftenbach, steht ein verwunschenes Märchenschloss. So wie es von weitem wirkt, hätte es eine perfekte Kulisse für einen Harry-Potter-Film abgeben können. Dem Schloss Neuschwanstein nachempfunden, wurde es von Baron Max von Sulzer-Wart in der Zeit von 1888 bis 1890 erbaut. Heute ist das Schloss Wart und die angrenzenden Rebhänge das Wahrzeichen der Gemeinde Neftenbach. Das Schloss Wart gehört seit 1935 der Philanthropischen Vereinigung «Der Engel des Herrn» und ist nur durch den Verwalter und eine Haushälterin bewohnt, die für den Unterhalt besorgt sind. Das Schloss ist leider für die Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich, kann jedoch von aussen und aus etwas Distanz gut besichtigt werden.
