Greatly enjoyed crossing the 124m long suspension bridge across the Massa gorge with a beautiful view of the Aletsch Glacier. The bridge can be accessed either via Belalp or Riederalp and the duration is in both cases about 2,5 hours to the bridge (and then 2,5 hours to the end of the hike, totaling about 5 - 5,5 hours of hiking Belalp - bridge - Riederalp). The Belalp side of the hike is exposed to the sun with only a few shady places, so sun protection is highly recommended. On the Riederalp side the path goes mostly through the Aletsch forest, which reduces the impact of the sunlight quite a bit. Recommendation for people with (potential or slight) height fright: The approach from Belalp is easier to manage as the beginning point on this side is lower and the bridge slants upward towards Riederalp. Since the exit is slightly higher coming from Belalp, ones view is less likely to be drawn into the Massa Gorge, 80m below the bridge when looking at the end of the bridge.

Absolutely amazing views on this bridge at sunset. I suggest the App "SuisseMobile" to keep track of the hike, this was really a game changer going up in complete darkness. The hike was quite long from the Moosflush ViewPoint (about 3 hours with 800m down) but most of it is in the beautiful very preserved forest. Be careful to go there way before sunset because the way back up to reiderfurka takes about 1h30 and the forest gets completely dark in about 20 minutes after sunset. And the way up to Belalp after crossing the bridge takes around 2 to 3 hours I heard. Anyways, the bridge feels very safe and the views were great.

Hands down one of the best hikes I’ve done in my life. The larches/fall foliage + glacier + the bridge + stunning views, this hike is a must do! Coming down from Belalp has some steep sections (pretty slippery when wet), but manageable. Recommend hiking poles if you have them! The logistics of the bus/cable cars/train was also pretty easy, but adds time to the day. Hike took us 4 hours (not including stops).
