Infozentrum Witi, Altreu — Attraction in Selzach

Witi Altreu, small village has a lot to offer, Its interesting to see almost every house has a stork nest on the roof. Its very lively to observe storks. There are observatory decks and a information centre to explain all the details about migratory birds. Play area for kids keep them busy for the whole day. Many recreational walking paths around, short walk along the river Aare is pleasant and also lot of picnic spots...

We came to this well known resort for Storks a Saturday afternoon mid April. All the nests were occupied and it appeared as if eggs had already been laid. If you want to photograph storks in flight, move to the west of the village or stay on the norther shores of the river Aare to get a good angle of the birds when they fly back to their nests. A small info centre and gift shop. There are lots of giant sized multi coloured rabbit sculptures dotted around the area for some inexplicable reason.

It would be way more interesting if there was a tower that visitors could go to the top of to perhaps view the Storks during the breeding season. I'd certainly pay a small admission...
