The observatory platform at Gornergrat is one of the most striking features of the mountain ridge. It offers a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding alpine landscape and mountains, including the iconic Matterhorn.

From the platform, you can see a stunning 360-degree view of the Pennine Alps, including peaks such as the Matterhorn, Dufourspitze (Switzerland's highest peak), and Liskamm.

It also provides an unobstructed view of several glaciers, including the Gorner Glacier, which is one of the largest in the Alps. The high elevation and clear air allow for exceptional visibility, making it a great spot for photography and sightseeing.

The Observatory is accesible via The Gornergrat Railway, which is the highest open-air cogwheel railway in Europe and can take you from Zermatt to the summit. The journey offers stunning views of the alpine landscape...

Other than all of the pushy tour groups, it was good. The area itself is pretty much as advertised. It was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend walking down to one of the lower train stations. Once you are away from the easy to access for your group areas, you can take your time and enjoy the scenery. Now the reason for the loss of the star. I know it's not the establishments problem but still. It costs a lot of money to go to these places and to be constantly pushed around by tour groups is really annoying. The tour companies should have rules for the tour groups and their behaviours. It's pretty bad when I have to change what I am doing because 3 busloads of pushy people show up and...

After skiing for the full week then it’s time for me to do some tourist sightseeing. The view up there is stunning and you can see 360 degrees of mountains views. With the day of clear sky, the Matterhorn will be there to welcome you.

I reach there around bit after 9.30am and only a few people there. Mostly you will see skier or snowboarder but they won’t be long since they will need to go down. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the view with really less crowded when you start early. Just be aware of your steps because it can be icy in some walking path. Make sure you wear proper shoes and try to walk on snow so you won’t...
