Schwarzsee — Attraction in Zermatt

A small and tranquil lake next to the cable car station. On a clear day you might catch Breithorn in the lake's reflection (not Matterhorn though). Worth a short visit if you're taking the cable car up to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, just drop and reboard the cable car. We visited in summer and the weather was a pleasant 10+. Magnifica giornata ed escursione con la famiglia. Oggi abbiamo deciso di salire a fare un giro allo Schwarzsee (2553 m) partendo con gli impianti di risalita da Zermatt, siamo saliti con la cabinovia della Matterhorn Express. Su è possibile oltre al laghetto ammirare il magnifico Matterhorn e in circa 2h 30min. arrivare alla Hörnlihütte punto di partenza della via Svizzera della Hörnligrat per l'ascesa al Matterhorn (sentiero di 4,3 km e 743 m di dislivello classificato come difficile ed è raccomandabile solo ad alpinisti esperti). Abbiamo eseguito una piccola escursione sopra il lago ad ammirare gli splendidi fiori rari di questa zona e le magnifiche stelle alpine. Al ritorno ci siamo fermati a mangiare presso il ristorante Schwarzsee dove sulla terrazza esterna ci si rilassa ai piedi del Matterhorn.
