Lake Zug has the peculiarity that its inflow Lorze only 1.5km further down flows out so that the mixing of the seawater remains low, on average, the water has a residence time of 14.5 years which reduces the water quality. Nevertheless, there are 32 species of fish in the lake, which is narrower and deeper in the rear and flatter and wider in the front. Buonas and Chiemen are the peninsulas that protrude far into the lake, and the latter, in particular, nearly divides the lake into two parts. Large yew trees occurrences grow on the slopes of the neighboring Zuger mountain, and only the west bank is home to even larger reeds that have strongly influenced the former lake image but largely disappeared due to building up. The air was filled with the music of the traditional Alphorn and yodelling. Loads of eateries and the best thing to do is to chill at the lake. A deer park, a bird enclosure, and many playgrounds are a highlight for a kids friendly environment....
