It is an absolutely beautiful place, the lookout is so pretty with views all the way to the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger! The trek upto it from Dübendorf via Geeren can be pretty tiring as it is quite steep but the forest and final view is worth it. Running, clean and drinkable water is available thanks to a fountain right beside the tower, and the cabin and benches are also nearby for a nice place to camp and relax. Highly recommend it for people in Zürich who want to have a good walk through the forest and some spectacular views of the Alps, Zürichsee as well...

The tower reaches over the treetops and thus allows a great view over the lake of Zürich and the alps in the distance (Careful if there's snow the stairs could be really slippery!). Really nice spot, with lots of fireplaces, a picknick area, a small hut and beches in the surrounding area to rest. Since it's so close to the city of Zürich it's easily accesible. For a nice daytrip I recommend to start at one of the surrounding towns (like Pfaffhausen) and hike towards Zürich from there. The tower is a great place for a break...

We had a great 1:30 walk with the view point as the highlight. We took the tram to the Zoo stop (tram 5 or 6 - or bus) and walked through the walking paths in the forest to the View Point. At the view point, count 153 steps up to see from Uster to Uetliberg! Stunning. In the way back, we choose to do a loop walking towards Witikon and taking to bus 31 back to Zürich at the stop Loorenstrasse. This is an easy walk, almost always flat in the forest. It is free...
