從停車場出發，經旭澤屋餐廳、溫泉湯屋，過多望吊橋，左邊那個斜坡，就是步道入口了。 步道全長1.2公里，來回約一小時，行程不長，路面平緩、風味原始、草木茂美。 先走「之」字型路徑上山，雖有階梯、碎石、泥土、小小樹根，但都平坦好走，只是一直上行，對腿力不好的人來說，可能有點辛苦。 十餘分鐘後，200公尺的地方有座平台，上面豎著「森林俱樂部」解說牌，從這裏分成「往右」與「往前」兩條路，指標叫遊客「右轉」，待會兒會回到前面這條路，所以是「右去左回」，繞一個圈。 土徑變成了石板路、姑婆芋與蕨類變成了成群棕櫚樹。不多久，到了第一觀景台，石階踏面平整、踢面低淺，轉幾個彎，五分鐘後就到了。站在高處，自然身心舒爽，可惜景色普通，沒亮點。 離開觀景台，回到路口，繼續前行，石板、石階兩旁都是高林巨木，濃蔭蔽日；苔蘚蕨類、鋪滿地面，風光幽靜而有韻味。 且觀且拍且行，很快到了第二觀景台，比第一觀景台更近一一60秒到達；和第一觀景台相同一一沒有景觀。不過「既來之、則觀之」，還是可以上去瞧瞧。 路徑從此一路往下，由於地面有點濕，又有許多落葉，包括漂亮的楓葉，加上有的石階踢面頗高，因此在900公尺處立著一塊牌子，提醒遊客「步道濕滑，小心行走」。 在這段路程中，罕見地出現大平地：樹木指天、綠草鋪地、斷幹橫臥、桌椅在旁，遊客可以在這裏歇息、賞景、拍照，滿好的景點。 小歇之後，恢復了精神，繼續往前走，沒多久，到了早先分岔的路口，步道已繞完一圈，「鳩之澤自然...
