Lion Mountain Historic Trail — Attraction in Emei

Very interesting walk, lots of temples to see in the caves and built into the mountain. Enjoyable walk, although quite steep at points. Recommend heading off early to avoid the midday heat. Very friendly people all along the trail, although it was very quiet midweek. We a had a short tour of a temple by a monk which was fun. Don’t bother with this historic trail; it’s all road and nothing worth seeing. Go directly to Shitoushan Quanhua temple, or park at Yuan Guang Si for a bit of a mountain side walk down to the temple. The temple is the only thing worth seeing on this trail - and is worth it seeing! Definitely the most stunning mountainside...
