Beach is no good for enjoying the waves or getting wet in the sea. But the 17 km cycle track is awesome. We can get cycles near the bus stop and we can cycle along the beach. Single, double and multiple seater cycles are available.

A popular scenic attraction along the 17km coastline in Nanliao, Hsinchu.

Global Risk Report 2024 conducted by World Economic Forum lists misinformation and disinformation (technological), extreme weather events (environmental), societal polarisation (societal), cybersecurity (technological) and interstate armed conflict (geopolitical) among the top five risks affecting international peace and security over a two-year period.

21 September 1981 was marked International Day of Peace by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). International Year of Peace was designated in 1986 by the UNGA under the supervision of Soviet Under Secretary General Ustinov tasked with

soliciting funds for the project and organi[s]ing regional meetings of nongovernmental organi[s]ations. In this way, individuals and groups will participate in a UN project without suspecting that the effort is managed by a Soviet. The Soviets have key personnel in offices responsible for UN Secretariat relations with nongovernmental organi[s]ations (Soviet Presence in the U.N. Secretariat 1985: 9).

The most active Soviet front organisation: World Peace Council (WPC) WPC was formed at the World Congress of Intellectuals in August 1948. Initially the World Committee of Partisans for Peace founded in 1949 in Paris, the organisation adopted the title World Peace Council in 1950 but was expelled by the French government in 1951 in respect of ‘fifth column activities’ (World Peace Council: instrument of Soviet foreign policy 1982: 1). As a nongovernmental organisation, World Peace Council participates in UN activities armed with an ‘ability to influence UN debate and the domestic political process in their own countries’ (Soviet Presence in the U.N. Secretariat 1985: 1).

Control is exercised over the WPC by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 's (CPSU) Central Committee through its International Department (ID), which is headed by Committee Secretary and Politburo candidate member Boris Ponomarev…Through such direct lines to key WPC officials, the CPSU can often control decisions on WPC projects and activities as well as the content of statements, communiques, and resolutions stemming from WPC events (World Peace Council: instrument of Soviet foreign policy 1982: 3-4).

‘The overthrow of governments by violent revolution has been, of course, the classical and basic communist technique’ (Brownell 1956: 11). The communists' abandoning of the promise of peaceful coexistence or renouncing open violence between states (e.g. solidarity with the terrorist group - Palestine Liberation Organisation) should be of caution for liberal democracies as ‘[t]he class war, they say, must go on’ (Brownell 1956: 2).

It has a nice beach, seafood market, normal street market, and a big open field which you can picnic on. The only downside is that most often, it is...
