Old Caoling Tunnel — Attraction in New Taipei

Passing through this old tunnel on bicycle ride was just so cool...! Tunnel opens to Yilan County, the other side of the New Taipei. Inside the tunnel temperature cool although it's so hot outside. Ride in the Tunnel Passing through the mountain, surrounded with green forests makes u feel tired and exhausted, but just so refreshing ! Inside the tunnel , there is a point that separates Yilan and New Taipei City, one of the Hotspot for picture taking! You will enjoy it if you love outdoor activities ! You should bring your growing kids at least... if you ever have time... if not, make the time for children's & family's good...

This place is quite picturesque. Good view of ocean, railway track, cycling tunnel and all the lush greenery. We rented our bike from the fulong hotel where we stayed and cycled till fishing village. There are quite a few bike renting shops near railway station area with lot of bike varieties . Dedicated cycling track for caoling tunnel cyclying track started after we cycled around 1 km. The tunnel is very comfortable for riding a bike. It is built on a mountain slope facing the Pacific, which makes the ride easy but not very challenging. Inside the tunnel, there is always a steady, comfortable wind blowing, and it’s wide enough for 2 e-scooters to pass each other — even wide enough for an ambulance to get through. It seems the tunnel has been approved for emergency vehicles as well. Overall, it’s a lovely...
