My kids were looking forward to visiting as we couldn’t make it in time on our previous trip. Had planned to visit in the morning but was told they had 7 tour buses in the daytime so was advised to go later in the day before 3.30pm. We joined in for the last tour session and and signed up for the DIY activities. My younger daughter chose the paper fan activity which includes papermaking from scratch. Being the last session it was very rushed. The instructor that helped guide my daughter in the session was very polite and patient but I cant say the same for the more senior staff. She spoke to our instructor rudely and kept rushing her. Then when it came to the drying of the paper she just allowed my daughter to lift off the paper and brush a few times and took over because “ we are late and they want to knock off work” 😅 Even when we were making the fan it’s was rushed and it’s just not nice to keep hinting at customer they want to knock off so faster finish and get out. So lesson learnt to go visit in the morning and don’t join the last session because apparently there is not enough time for the full diy session. 😅😅 Also note that groups less than 16 do not require booking. Only walk ins.

Overall still enjoyable as we gained new knowledge on traditional paper making were in awe of how graceful and skilled the paper makers were despite some of them being slightly advanced in age. It was a pity the our parents didn’t get to do the DIY as there was no way they could move fast enough to enjoy...

The staff here is very kind. We visited here twice and each time we had a dedicated helper who spoke English to help us with the entire paper making and stamping process. The whole process takes about an hour and is very educational and reasonably priced (about 160 NT) depending on what you choose to make. You can do a simple wall hanging, a fan, and other projects using the paper you created. They also have the option for painting or pressing flowers within your paper. They have a nice gift shop with a wide variety of paper related items. You can also watch their skilled workers create large perfectly flat pieces of paper that they sell. Would highly recommend this for a family or even a...

Tried our hands at DIY paper-making at 廣興紙寮 in Puli, Taiwan – such a fun and meaningful experience! This paper mill has been around since 1965, keeping the art of handmade paper alive. It is the only one left in the puli area. We learned that their artisan paper is highly sought after by painters, artists, and even used to wrap precious Pu'er tea! Truly a beautiful craft with so much history. The admission is 50/pax. The diy experience to make a fan from scratch cost an additional 280, but requires an hour to complete. Highly recommended, regardless of your age!
