We arrived slightly before 830am and was admitted pretty shortly thereafter to the first classroom. They called out our party number of 4 (we had an above 65yo with us who doesn't require a ticket but also wont have the diy ticket also). The team of ladies manning the various classrooms were busy prepping all the various stations and getting all the diy materials ready. We were directed to the first station which was to make your own windmill. The lady trainer guided us on how to color and decorate on the flat pics of windmill cutout with the wet sponge/paint or crayon pieces. After we were done with decorating, she guided us on how to fasten the ends together and prop it on a plastic stick to complete the windmill. We were then directed to a few standing fans to let us try out our newly made windmills as the swirling of the windmill petals will create new colors that you just put on with the sponge or crayons earlier. Before we could enjoy playing with our windmills, we were then told to go to the next classroom quickly. Since we were there at 830am, we were the only students there. The next classroom allows u to make your own wet markers. Another lady trainer taught us the process. Each paying pax will get to make up to 3 pcs of your color choice. It was fun hammering the writing felt core into the plastic tube end and then soaking the cotton core into jars of water color to see it run up the cotton core. You will then pick up the fully soaked core and put it into the plastic tube body before hammering the end into the plastic tube body to close up and complete the water color marker. As before, you will be then rush to the next classroom where the lady trainer taught us to fill a plastic beaker with small pcs of crayons materials. Then you will oil the metal block on a machine and pour your beaker of materials into the hole (its shaped like the island of taiwan). After inserting the metal cap, you will then lock the level on the contraption before you lift the level up and down to generate pressure to compress on the metal block to press the crayon materials into the shape of taiwan island. After finishing, you can put the crayon into a small plastic bag to take away. The last station is where the lady trainer taught us on how to draw cartoons and rainbows and flowers on our hands etc with the body paint. This is the station where parents would be required to help their kids on the diy as its simply too difficult to self draw I would think. After you are done you can move off to the side of the hall where various props and costumes are available (some are at additional costs to wear just fyi) for you to don on and then take pics at the 3 full size props at the side (there is a pirate ship, a center stage and a Halloween house with a big skeleton). While we were here taking pics, we saw swamps of students coming in to the various stations to diy. It was fortunate we were there before them and we could complete all our diys in time. The only downside is you won't get the time to really understand how each diy is made. It was just rushing off from one station to the next when you are done. There is no explanation on how each step works etc. At the exit, there is a gift shop where you get to exchange 80twd/per paying pax for a souvenir to bring home. There were plenty of different crayon sets and marker sets you can exchange for. We completed the visit...
Read moreActually all there is, is the DIY experience and the super long rainbow slide. You can purchase a ticket that gets you 4 different diy activities, and also pay to slide down their rainbow slide (above 6 years old)
For the DIY: The first was to decorate and make a windmill. Second was to make some markers (3 colors each person). Third was to make shaped crayons (1 pc each person) and the last was just to use their face color paints to draw/ paint on ourselves and take photos with some of their backdrops (4themes). If you wish to use their costumes and props, you could do so with an additional fee.
Please note. Elderly could join in the class for free, but they would not be given any of the items to do. They do not allow non-paying adults to accompany attendees, and will have to wait outside.
Although it was a nice experience with my child, I felt that it would have been better if they allowed non-paying adults to be in the same room. For us, daddy wasn't interested in any of the activities, so he had to sit outside to wait for us. I honestly felt if they could allow the elderly to be in the same room, then why not any others? Daddy could have been a great assistance to us (and alleviate the job of the trainers) or help us to take photos (that helps with promotion of the place). They could simply state that non-paying adults were not allowed to occupy seats (if they are worried about seating capacity). But of course, actually there is far more than enough seating when we were there anyway. And they were very strict in controlling the materials to be given per ticket.
All in all, it is what it is! Good place for some comfortable DIY bonding with your child. Go there to participate in the 4 DIY activities as described above or take the slide. Please give it a miss if you're not interested in any of the above described.
Each ticket gives you 80ntd discount off their retail items. They do have many items to buy like face paints...
