I wanted to kill some time and was looking for a place to visit from Tainan Train Station. I didn’t expect to find such a great spot within just 16 km! It’s a beautiful place surrounded by green forests.

If you enjoy running, this is a great location—even at midday—because the trees provide plenty of shade. The park is located in a rural area, so make sure your phone is fully charged and you have internet access, just in case you need directions to return.

At first, I was a bit scared when I saw a warning sign about poisonous snakes. But the natural beauty and greenery quickly made me forget the fear.

If you visit the nearby 7-Eleven and use their restroom, you’ll also find a path leading to a 3D art area. I highly recommend checking it out!

Even though I visited on a Saturday, it wasn’t crowded at all.

There’s a large, free parking area for both bikes and cars.

I suggest bringing mosquito repellent. I didn’t use any and wasn’t bothered much, but that might depend on how you’re used to outdoor environments. If you don’t want to take the risk, it’s better to carry one.

You can find water at three places:

7-Eleven

The Bamboo Charcoal Museum

A vending machine outside one of the restrooms

Note that not all restrooms have vending machines, so plan ahead. Also, some areas have stairs or slopes where you’ll need to use handrails.

At the Bamboo Charcoal Museum, you can buy gifts for your family and friends. Gift boxes range from around 200 to 2,000 NTD. The museum itself is free to enter—I bought a gift for a family...

A nice path around this beautiful park, not technical, all the family can enjoy there a good moment in the forest with a lot of shadows section. There’s a lot place to sit and eat (tables, benches…). Close to the park you have the possibility to visit the Bamboo museum with its little store and there’s also...

Great place for a scenic hike that is all concrete, yes I said it, all concrete. A jungle feel that usually can only be experienced through back mountain trail hikes (which can be dangerous). Decent parking and plenty of stairs / paths to stretch your legs or do some...
