As a visitor to Secret Beach on the island of Liuqiu in Taiwan, I was amazed by the stunning beauty of the underwater world and the opportunity to swim with sea turtles. Snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of Secret Beach is a must-do activity for anyone visiting the area.
The beach is known for being one of the best places in Taiwan to see sea turtles, and I was not disappointed. Swimming alongside these magnificent creatures was an unforgettable experience. The sea turtles were so graceful and serene, and it was a privilege to be able to observe them in their natural habitat. It was incredible to see them come up for air and then dive down again to continue feeding on the sea grasses.
In addition to the sea turtles, the marine life at Secret Beach was also diverse and abundant. The coral reefs were vibrant and colorful, and there were so many different species of fish swimming around us. It felt like we were exploring a whole new world.
Snorkeling at Secret Beach is suitable for all levels, as the water is calm and clear. The rental gear is available on-site, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Safety is a top priority, and we were briefed on the dos and don'ts before entering the water. It's essential to follow these guidelines to protect both ourselves and the marine life.
My experience at Secret Beach was unforgettable. The sea turtles and snorkeling were the highlights of my visit, and I would recommend this destination to anyone looking for a unique and exciting adventure. It's a must-visit for anyone traveling to Taiwan, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of the underwater world at...

The easy entry makes this an ideal snorkeling site and I'd recommend also visiting Qiannutai, 倩女臺 which is located a few hundred meters to the north.
The under water landscape is rocky, providing plenty of places for corals to grow. Of the four shore dive sites I've been to here, this one has the second highest density of corals though much of it is exposed to the waves, preventing large colonies from forming.
There is a rental shop located on the road, providing fun...
Read moreI probably got black lung from my rented snorkel but it was worth it for the coral sights of Secret Beach. I was there at 9:30 before any guided groups showed up. It wasn’t crowded at all but I hear it fills up in the afternoons. Be sure to bring goggles and some kind of shoes to take in the underwater sights. You can safely get fairly far out of the little cove without the water getting too deep or crazy. Be careful of the rocks coming back in though—be sure to come into the beach straight on and not try to walk up the coral. You will topple over and get cut up. We saw quite a few sea turtles, lots of fish, some pretty coral, and way too many sea urchins. Wear...
