Dream Works of the Plums — Attraction in Xinyi Township

It took me forever to navigate and translate to find this online to do a proper rating and review. I’m glad my patience paid off because this place deserves A LOT of credit and attention. If you’re trying to look for Mei wine house, search for dream works of the plum instead. Good luck!

Located on Yushan rd. The front of their building is quite charming. They have cartoon statues. Plum is what they specialize in and boy do they ever. There are sooooooo many types of plum products in here. Alcohol form. Medicinal form. Candy form. Dried form. Deconstructed jelly form. Powder form which goes great with guava and dragon fruit btw. Just learned that here in Taiwan.

You can get lost here for over an hour cause there’s so much to see. The bulk section with the plum jelly candies lets you samples each one before you purchase. Samples are for the cheaper ones not the expensive ones. Believe me you’re gonna want to grab a bag and buy some.

The high quality premium plum teas that are iced in the fridge are wickedly good. They also help promote digestion if you’re eating too much as a tourist like me on vacation lol.

There’s an endless variety of plum wines and sake. This place is not wallet safe haha. But it’s Taiwan. Grab a bottle back at your stay. Great with late night snacks. This winery became famous because of a Taiwanese movie 海角七号, where a wine 马拉桑 (a brand created for the movie) was featured in the movie. Thereafter, the winery created many more plum wines and brandy as well as a rice whisky, besides the original rice wine 马拉桑. Each of their wine has very interesting name, such as 山猪迷路， 长老说话. The winery also has a scenic view of the valley, thus attracting lots of tourists. There is also a carnival today, perhaps part of the new year celebration. This is a Great Stop for quick shopping, restroom stop, coffee and Ice cream.

There are a lot of local produce fruits to buy at a reasonable price. If you like grapes, you will enjoy this place.

There are a lot of shopping options. Local produced wine, pastries, candies and many other items.

The store is well organized.

There is even a Tea area for you and your group to enjoy and taste tea of your choice in the store. So you can decided if you want to buy more.
