竹南蛇窯除了是金氏世界紀錄認證最高溫的柴燒窯(高達攝氏1563度)，近年來更進一步在台灣與國際推廣「茶碗茶席」。多年前適逢竹南蛇窯每月一日的開放日，有幸參與手捏茶碗與茶碗茶席的課程，覺得整個身心都被療癒了。

之前只有在鶯歌與三義手拉胚的經驗，那次挑戰不用工具，直接徒手捏出一個茶碗，如何將茶碗捏得厚薄均勻，考驗的是手對陶土的敏感度與穩定度。將碗型捏出來後，正反兩面還要經過日曬定型，才能在杯底加上圈足。

手捏茶碗的魅力在於碗型可以完全服貼於個人的手掌形狀，不只「就手」還能達到「人器合一」的境界，創造世界唯一「只容你手」的專屬茶碗。當時我用類似木葉天目碗的作法將樹葉用釉封存於碗底，營造樹葉浮游於碗中的效果。
