卓蘭大峽谷，又稱為～大安溪大峽谷，是後天形成的地貌，出現於…當年1999年震動全臺灣的〔921大地震〕之後，因為車籠埔擾亂帶的推升隆起，引發了（大安溪）流水阻塞形成了局部的堰塞湖河段，後來經歷了幾次颱風豪雨不斷沖刷，充沛的雨水匯入大安溪峽谷，在湍急的溪流切割、沖刷下，逐漸演變成今日所見的特殊峽谷地貌。相較於：一般天然峽谷地質為岩石構成，〔大安溪峽谷〕主要是由砂岩和泥岩的土質所構成，土質鬆軟，雖然遠看像岩層般堅硬，但事實上質地仍是非常脆弱的，來到大峽谷欣賞壯麗峽谷奇景也要留心腳步，並大雨過後建議不要前往。

2024年の2月に行きました。フルーツ売りのおっちゃんに教えてもらいました。レンタルチャリで行きましたが、駐車場に止めてから歩いて行きます。ロープが張ってあり近くで見ることはできず監視してる人もいます。調べてみると地震と台風の影響により、河床は二つの層に分かれました。奇岩が露出しており、まるでアメリカのグランドキャニオンの景観にちなんで名付けられたそうです。
