Ngorongoro Crater ViewPoint offers stunning panoramic views of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the largest intact volcanic calderas in the world. This breathtaking site is located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is home to diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, and rare black rhinos. The viewpoint is an ideal spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts, providing an opportunity to witness the unique terrain and ecosystem. Visitors often explore the surrounding area, experiencing the rich culture of the Maasai people who inhabit the region. Send to Mini Gate is a smaller gate of the Ngorongoro conservation area. The gate is located on the western side of the Ngorongoro crater. The gate is about 30 minutes from the Lodoare gate. This is on the trail to the Olduvai Gorge. The Gorge is about an hour from this gate. The gate has a ranger post, campsite and other accommodation facilities. There is also an airstrip. Read moreI enjoyed the crater experience and viewing the big 5. It's funner in a group than individuals but you can also do a private tour. The Serena lodge/5 star hotel has amazing views of the crater from above when not cloudy. Tested lodges will also let you get closer than you might want to animals. I was able to capture many good photos and videos of wildlife in the crater using a zoom lens either from cannon or Sony. You should rent one if possible 100-400mm or 200-600mm canon or sony. Overall fun and different experience. Beware of your driver driving too fast during the rain season, we saw a tour land cruiser flipped on the side of the mountain which caused the exit from the crater to be shutdown for...
Read moreThe Ngorongoro crater and wider conservation area is easily accessible. There is a daily light aircraft flight to Arusha from Dar (other airstrips in Tanzania also fly to Arusha) where you would then be met by a safari guide in a close-sided pop-top 4 x 4 safari vehicle. Your guide will stay with you for your time down in the Crater, and possibly longer. The drive from Arusha is around 4 hours to begin an Ngorongoro Crater safari.
Another alternative is to fly to Manyara airstrip, which is about an hour from the Crater. Depending on where you’re staying – you may be met by the lodge, or picked up by a...
