Udzungwa Mountains National Park is truly a hidden gem in Tanzania that offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The park's breathtaking scenery, including lush forests, crystal-clear streams, and stunning waterfalls like those captured in the images, makes it a paradise for hikers and photographers. The Njokamoni Trail, which spans 6 kilometers, provides a rewarding journey through the park's diverse ecosystem. The trail is well-marked, and the opportunity to encounter habituated Mangabey monkeys, along with various bird species and other primates, adds an exciting element to the hike. The natural beauty, combined with the rich biodiversity, ensures that every step along the trail is filled with wonder. The waterfall featured in the photos is a highlight of the park, with its cascading waters providing a serene and picturesque backdrop. It’s a perfect spot to relax and take in the tranquility of the surroundings after a fulfilling hike.Whether you're looking for a challenging trek or simply want to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature, Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a must-visit destination. The park is a testament to Tanzania's rich natural heritage and is well worth the journey for anyone looking to explore the...

Went to the Sanje Falls on our own. Had the coordinates for the path by GPS. Access to the path is hard to find. There is a small parking lot and a few semi-grown ones selling hiking sticks and coconut milk. However, there is no sign of anything at all. There are no signs of paying a parking fee. First, you have to climb a small house settlement on a slope. Only upstairs is a signpost. The path itself is easy to walk, although quite strenuous. On the way up there are small signs of various tree and plant species. On the top you can expect a fantastic view and you can enjoy a bath in one of the numerous water pots. On the way back, we were then approached by a guide that the use of the way costs entrance fee. At the bottom we were greeted by a ranger with a fully loaded weapon and forced to drive in two separate cars to Parkoffice 9 km away. There we had to pay the US $ 90 official costs and penalty in additional $ 45 penalty. The Sanje Falls itself is certainly a worthwhile destination but to pay a total of 45 $ per person admission and afterwards with weapon force to "procrastinate" is an absolute NO-GO! Especially since you need for this way no guide. This is not the case in any country that wants to open up...

Udzungwa is absolutely beautiful and breath-taking, I fell in love with the whole journey, from the hike all the way down to the waterfall. There is a main area where u must enter from and where the offices are, there they guide you very well and give you a brief geographical understanding of Udzungwa, the animals, and different routes. After we selected the Sanje waterfall route, we drove 10 mins with the park guides and became the hike. While the hike was challenging it was very smooth and very fun, it was adventurous and very fulfilling. We reached a point where wo could eat and spot the waterfall followed by another hike to get to the Sanje Waterfall. The views, service, atmosphere , vibes and everything else was fantastic and very nice, I highly recommend this Mountains National Park and would definitely go again. However I suggest that you time your hike up and back down, as our hike down was late and it got very dark, part of the...

Udzungwa Mountains National Park is absolutely magical, if I were rating the experience alone, it would be a solid 5 stars without hesitation. The hike through the forest was immersive and refreshing, surrounded by lush greenery, rare wildlife, and the calming sounds of nature. But the highlight by far was the waterfalls, powerful, serene, and unbelievably beautiful. It honestly felt like a hidden paradise. However, I’m giving it 4 stars overall because the administrative process was unnecessarily difficult. From unclear payment procedures to confusing communication during booking and organizing the trip, it took away a bit from the overall experience. With better organization or a smoother booking system, it would’ve been perfect. I’d recommend pre booking everything to avoid delays. That said, once you get through the initial logistics, it’s absolutely worth it. If you love nature, hiking, and hidden gems, Udzungwa should definitely be on your list.
