The park is wonderful and well maintained through but there are shortcomings which concerns the park that are villagers interference with hunting issue, cultivation or fishing, roads during bad weather became terrible, reception with variety of languages to visitors from guides is very minimal, poacher's are also endanger the animal welfare of this park and it's disadvantage is that the park occupy a large area of land in order to supervise maybe an issue. The number of animals in this park are not quite large but serves the most with it's aerial views & more.
It's the only park in the country with the massive water bodies around & incredibly with an Indian ocean experience. Also there is an island called Fungwe/Mafue which sometimes disappear covered by ocean water, it's wonderful plus options of swimming/diving is available. Read moreIt's nice place to spend one day or two but you shouldn't expect too much. Animals don't show during daytime. They get active night-time but the gate of the park get closed at 6 p.m. It's rather impossible to see wild cats. During our trip we have seen some giraffes, antelopes and buffalo. Nor lions neither leopards or elephants were seen. Be carefull when you negotiate the price. At the end of the trip we were surprisingly told by our guide that he is not employed and his is not given any money from the park. That was really surprising especially that he had park uniform and he was earlier processing our tickets in the official park tourist office.
