Read moreGreat view, takes about 1.5-2 hours nice walk through villages by foot from Lushoto or 10,000 TZS with taxi (one way, don't pay more). There is a 2,000 TZS per person of village fee at the entrance and another 1,000 TZS if you want to go throught the hotel, but you can easily avoid the hotel by using the path 50 meters below the hotel, it has a sign.
I would recommend to go for a nice walk by foot on a nice day to view the sunset and ask the people in the hotel to get you a taxi for the way back. We bought beers in the hotel, thus avoiding the 1,000 passing...
Read moreThe location was quite a distance from Lushoto town, Usambara mountains and took between 2-3 hours to get there. The views were beautiful, but the campground below average and the lodge rooms were so-so and left a lot to be desired.
The food was bland and boarding school like and certainly not worth the 100 dollar charge per room. A good place to visit but not worth the price tag. 100 dollars for a room like that in this part of the world is definitely an overcharge!
