An amazing system of deep limestone caves complete with stalagmites, stalagtites and even the Virgin Mary! The cave has motion-sensor activated lights, but only in the main sections. The guide takes a flashlight though if you don't have your own. There are an extraordinary number of bats of at least two species. Flat spiders (harmless) lurk on some walls and the floor within the guano is alive with various troglodytic species such as native cockroaches and bat-insects. My big gripe though, and why it is not getting five stars is that the litter is present in some caves and appalling in others. This needs to be dealt with! Secondly it's really unclear the role of the guide and payment. The guide told me having a guide is mandatory. At the gate they confirmed this. But the guide also told me that I need to pay him 10 000TZS. At the gate afterwards the entry officer said that payment is optional. This kind of misleading information is typical of Tanzania and needs to be sorted out and...

Locals only 2.000tsh) and the guide is not included (+10.000tsh) caves are ok, I guess... But the price its ridiculous for what it is...

The worst of this place is that they have a babboon attached to a tree by a rope and when you ask why they have it like that they say because its dangerous? Of course it is, is a wild animal that should be free! Dont waste your...

One of the most extensive limestone caves in East Africa.

The caves were formed about 150 million years ago during the Jurassic age.

Its a very attractive, marvelous and amazing place to visit in Tanga. The caves have different natural shaped structures inside that represents many things in real life.

Environment is very calm and quiet. Its very use to student who learn geography courses to learn more and get some scenic views about limestone rocks.

Price ia very standard and affordable. Visit...
