We visited the farm few days ago with a couple of friends. We booked in advance for a cooking class too. We arrived at the farm at 9h30. It was AMAZING !!! First, we were warmly welcoming by Siso and the rest of the team. Then, we stayed with Ridhwan, the cooking chef. He teached us all the steps to cook Pilau with tuna fish. This experience was really funny and interesting even if it was a little bit long (maybe 2 hours), but normal, sometimes cooking takes time. During the Pilau finished to cook, we went to visit the farm with Khamis. He is very friendly and funny, we learned and laughed a lot. The farm is big and it was really pleasant to walk around. We tasted different fruits and spices. Khamis really takes time to explain and respond to all our questions. The tour takes around 1h30. At the end of the tour, we ate Pilau with the staff. It was de-li-cious ! It was very satisfying and nice to eat all together. After a plate of fruits and a little photo shoot, we've been to the spice shop and buy a lot of spices for cooking Pilau again and again. This is really something to do if you come in Zanzibar. But careful, there is a lot of spice farm around. One of them has a sign very similar to Kidichi Spice farm but it's not the right place if you want to live this experience. I highly recommend this one !

Fantastic and must do experience when visiting Zanzibar! We asked to do the cooking lesson as well as the spice farm tour, and we were so glad for the experience. We started the tour with a sit down and intro to spices and vegetables used in traditional Zanzibari cooking and we were taught how they prepped their ingredients to make a coconut tuna curry. The two guides were assisted by the family who live nearby (this is the family’s farm in actual fact) and everyone was lovely and friendly. As we were being taught how they made their curry I asked if I could show them how to make a traditional Moroccan dish - zealous - and they were very happy that I offered. We had an exchange of cultural cooking techniques which was amazing and an experience I will always cherish. The spice tour began after we left the food to cook and it took approx 2 hours. The tour was full of knowledge and we learnt so much. After the tour we were given handmade hats, earrings and necklaces made with leaves and flowers, which was lovely. We were then shown artisanal soaps, perfume oil, and other bits that were available to buy. Afterwards we went back to eat our food that we helped to prepare and then finished with a visit to the spice shop on the farm.

A great place to visit on your own from Stone Town. We had a tour with Abdul and Mohammed, who showed us various plants that grow in Zanzibar. This is a small farm, so you have a couple of different plants near each other - do not expect rows and rows of the same plant. It's the best way to see different spices and fruits, as the tour is quite thorough and takes around 2 hours. We visited during the spring, which is early for many plants - we saw very young or old ones. They still were great! The fruit and tea treat at the end was also really cool. We took dala dala 511 from nearby Darajani market (not sure if that was still the market. And it went south first, near the hospital). Dala dala was 1000 TSh, entrance to the farm 10 000 TSh, tips not included. The guides were very friendly and did not try to force us to tip, like I read in some reviews of other farms. They did their job really well and earned our thanks :)

Book the cooking class, the tour and plan to stay for 4-5 hours. Contact them via whats up if you have any questions. Be careful when you enter some people are waiting at the entrance and tell you they are from the Siso farm and will give you a spice tour. Tell them you dont want one and you are booked for cooking class and continue. Stay in touch with Siso so he knows you are coming and come to greet you. Follow the signs. Check my photos so you know how it looks. The food was sooooo tasty, the vibe amazing, chill, real, we met some other travelers and we learned so much! They also have volunteers who have spent some time in Zanzibar who have gold advise four stay! We even came back to the farm to get some fruits that we really liked but were to rare to find on the market !

Today we visited the Siso Spice Farm. We had a great and entertaining time with the hosts of the farm. They introduced everything they are planting and did a little quiz out of it which made it funny and enjoyable. We had the opportunity to smell and try all the different spices they have. Imran a kind boy climbed up a 15 to 20 meter high coconut tree like it was nothing and brought us some coconuts down to try. He even made some lovely gifts for us out of plants. They introduced us to their own shop and we where free to buy whatever we want to for good prices. I can recommend this lovely place to everyone who want to do a spice farm visit.

Great Adam, pretty cool guy and will make hour tour interesting. Saw lot of stuff and learned a lot yesterday about spices. Picking last agava for us from the tree was highlight of the tour. Coconut from the hakuna matata master was also great touch in tour. Food was amazing and buying some coffee and spices and soap and chanel no.0 was great too.. give tips to Adam and the man who takes coconut for you as it is must and price you pay is only for entrance, their fee is extra. Had great time and recomend to take bus to there and back, 500tzs only per person.. walk a bit and have a healthy life! Pole pole
