As water leaves its turbines, it empties into the Choen River. The dam is named for Princess Chulabhorn of Thailand.

เนื่องด้วย ไปทำธุระ ที่จ.ขอนแก่น เห็นป้ายว่ามี่เขื่อนที่อยู่ไม่ไกล ที่ออกนอกเส้นทาง~40กว่าโล เคยมาเขื่อนนี้เมื่อ 20ปีก่อน ครั้งนี้จึงพาผู้สูงวัยไปด้วย เพราะอยากเห็นความเปลี่ยนแปลง เจ้าหน้าที่บอกว่า จริงๆเขื่อนนี้เป็นเขื่อนปิด เราเข้าใจคือน่าจะไม่ค่อยมีใครเข้ามาเที่ยว เพราะ มันไม่ค่อยมีการพัฒนาในรูปแบบการส่งเสริมการท่องในบริเวณตัวเขื่อนสักเท่าไหร่ แต่ถ้าใครไม่เคยมา อยากมา ชมเขื่อนจุฬาภรณ์ ก็มาได้ มีร้านอาหาร ร้านกาแฟ เส้นทางอาจจะไม่ดีมากนัก แต่ถ้าใจอยากเชิญได้เสมอ...
