We made an afternoon trip northwards Chaiyaphum, aiming eventually at Wat Sa Hong.

Finally there, at Wat Sa Hong. The temple is at least locally well known, even famous; and thus, I waited for quite much from this visit. But my feelings there were a bit contradictory. Namely, first a gate which is quite impressive; then nothing... okay, a sight to Chaiyaphum university there far, but.. Dogs barking, my wife scary with dogs saying "let's go away from here". Temple dogs don't bite, and I want to go forwards. This temple demands some patience.

At the background of the large temple area there is a pond, and small statues on the shores of it. Infront the pond there is a big stone and inside the stone there is a cave with, of course, its Buddha statue. On the stone rises a big Buddha statue, and it really isn't any standard Buddha. A impressive constellation!

But, in my eyes, the most important part of Wat Sa Hong is a small house - I think it's not a small Viharn, is it? - the outside of the house is glowing white, the inside is white with the golden colour Buddha. The sight is very serene, even Sublime if we are able to "see" the serenity of the sight as a duality breaker.

Wat Sa Hong is not so much a tourist attraction; above all it's not a spectacle, which would be rather a pejorative description.

Rather Wat Sa Hong is a place for silent meditation, for step by step meditation to practice awareness, attention, and finally, if you go very deep into... a possible moment for a sudden break into...
