Actually the waterfall is nice and quite high with plenty of water. Unfortunately it is extremely commercialized for mass Thai tourism. The whole valley to the waterfall is made out of concrete to cover for the thousands of people going there on the weekends. I had to take another 2 stars off the review due to their treatment of foreigners. Charging 5 times the Thai price for people who live and work there and pay their taxes to the Thai government seems not right only because I am white. Also the mandatory mask at all times (even when alone in the forest) seems to only apply to foreigners. No Thai was wearing masks. I took mine off to breath a bit and immediately a "ranger" told me to put it back on, even though 20m around me was nobody. If you charge foreigners that much and treat them like this, don't wonder why people who live here for longer have a certain mindset about Thai government officials. So to summarize: I don't recommend any foreigner to go there. Only if you like to experience a concrete valley to a waterfall and get charged 200 THB for that. A lot other and more beautiful places to see around with a better experience of the beautiful Thai nature. You could not actually go close to the waterfall. It was also not allowed to go swimming at the time (even though the signs said so, but maybe...
Read moreThis is my favorite place in Chantaburi to visit and I would recommend going on the weekday, as the weekend can be packed. I recently went in June, which is part of the rainy season, but it didn't rain that day.
Pros: water is cool and clean, decent number of pools to play in, clean and renovated changing rooms and bathrooms compared to before, cheap prices for Thais (40 baht), unique fish ปลาพลวง are friendly and the small ones may provide a fish spa for you, plenty of parking for a small fee (30 baht/car), Thai food and souvenirs for purchase before park entrance, interesting new trail to explore, camping grounds and bungalows available for rent, not allowing people to drink alcohol or eat near the waterfall, some wheelchair/stroller access (but not all the way to the waterfall), safety measures (ex. roped off sections) and signs
Cons: potentially discriminatory pricing for foreigners, may not be fun if crowded, some steep climbing and rock manevering necessary to travel to and from the waterfall (maybe not convenient for those not physically fit)
I hope...
Read moreIf you are in Chantaburi and have time, this waterfall is a great place to visit. It is not far from the town area. You can swim with a large fleet of carps. There are good facilities: first aid office, tourist information about the fall. Don't stop only at the water. Do hike up a little bit to get the better view of the fall and a nice pagoda for your photo op! Tips: When you get there right before the ticket office, there might be someone try to take your picture so it will be sold to you when you leave. You don't have to buy it unless you want it! You can also take a ride on a golf cart for 10 Baths from the ticket office to the entrance of the fall. The walk is not bad: it is a flat surface. The admission fees to the waterfall is 200 Bahts for non-Thais adult (40 Bahts for...
