I don’t think I would recommend this. If you want to experience what it feels like to be a homeless person but with clean toilets. Some people don’t respect or follow the rules, there was loud music every night (we stayed for 3 nights). You can also hear loud trucks/pickup trucks and motorcycles constantly throughout the day no matter what time it is. In that way, it feels like you were a homeless person sleeping under a highway. There are also some stray dogs roaming around the campground. They are nice to people, but not so much to each other. You can hear heated dog fights in and around the campground. There is also not really any organization with the tent area. If you brought your own tent, you can put your tent anywhere you want. There is not a designated area. If you are renting a tent from the park office, then you are in for the homeless experience. For some reason, they put all the 2-3 person tent in a concentrated area (like a homeless camp). You can hear your neighbors walking around, see their shadows casted on your tent, and listen to their bed time whispers. Since there is no official system differentiating the occupied tent from the empty ones, you will also have random people trying to get into your tent in the middle of the night. We had a group of teenagers camping next to us. Besides being loud and noisy, at least two of them tried to get into our tent because our tents were so close they must have mistaken or something. But horrifying experience nonetheless when you were half asleep and you look up to see strangers trying to get into your tent. The guards also don’t really stop anybody to check their paperwork. The only positive thing is probably the clean bathrooms. There are plenty bathrooms and they were all pretty clean. If you are seeking a true close to nature camping experience, this is not the place. But if you just want to hang out with friends and families, have a little barbecue party or something, this...
Read moreGreat camping place, shout out to the thick heavy mattress made for quality sleep 😆 was there in mid November when it's around 12° according to Doi Inthanon NP thermometer, but not too cold inside the tent, toilets were all clean, fellow campers were also quite and civilized. We didn't pay 300thb entrance fee, maybe cos we're coming from Mae Hong Son, instead of Chiang Mai,but it's a long winding drive and steeper climb tho from MHS. Later we decided not to explore the National Park cos the NP entrance fees and the waterfalls are ridiculously pricey and doesn't seem to be worth it. We went to nearby Karen village for...
