I give this 5 stars although it is far from luxurious.. however.. they offer decent food and drink at a good price and the fishing is very reasonable... they have a big pool with massive fish which are pretty easy to catch but you have to release them back to the water and then there is another pool where it might take an hour or two to catch a decent fish which you can take home at an extra cost of 100 baht / Kilo if I remember correctly. I think the rods (different between big and small pool) cost about 300 baht all day although 3 hours total was enough for a great experience.... if you get lucky... befriend the young lad who I guess is the son of the owners or at least of the restauarant/ bar owners... there is nothing he doesn't know about fishing and he will catch you some live bait which works well in the small pool... tip him well... he...

We went over to Chiang Mai fishing park with very little information and no gear whatsoever.

To rent a rod, it's 300 Baht for the whole day, a 50 baht worth of bread crumbs are included if you rent the rod.

We were having no luck at all at the start because the bread crumb bait kept falling off the hook. What you need to do is add some water to the breadcrumbs and form a ball around the top part of the hook and later hook a smaller strip on the hook itself. The locals are really friendly and even though we didn't speak a word of Thai, they helped us get everything figured out.

It was really fun, and almost all casts got a bite. The fish here are strong, so be prepared for a fight! It was a great way to get introduced to the world of fishing for me.

P.S. bring lots of mosquito repellent. They are...

$300baht for a great time! It includes admission, rod/reel, and bait.

There are 3 ponds full of carp, perch, and catfish. Catfish are the biggest and easiest to catch. They also give a good fight! I caught 3 in 30 minutes.

Don't let go of your fishing pole! They'll definitely take it into the water with them!

As long as you get the hang of keeping your bait/bread on the hook, you're guaranteed to catch a fish! These fish are big and hungry!

I came in the morning so they were hungry and more likely to bite.

They have picnic tables, shade covers, and large trees to protect you from the sun and prove you an area to rest and eat. It looks like they used to sell food but they didn't the day I went. You might want to bring your own food and drinks...

We had gone fishing at this location this morning. Being weekend, there was a reasonable amount of people in this place. It was not crowded, but close to getting crowded when we were leaving the place. It is a catch and release place. They charge 300 Baht per rod and bait. They did not tell us about any time restrictions. We were there for just over an hour. This is a catch and release place. There were plenty of fish in the pond and it did not take too long for the fish to take the bait. We all had a nice time. More than adequate parking places were available and clean restrooms were also there.

Wow this place is so much fun and great way to get children into fishing, even my wife had fun who hates fishing. So east to catch nearly every cast you are catching something and quite big fish. My children are 6 and 7 and had amazing time even though I had to help them rell in every time as the fish put up great fight. Would not miss this if I was in the area. All the fishing gear and bait is supplied.
