StarDate September 2562 or just 2019. It was a bright and Sunny day in the land of smiles and the conditions where perfect for a spot of Predator fishing,so I decided to book myself a days fishing at the very renownd Castaway fishing park Pattaya. So ive rocked up with a BIG bag full of goodies with full intentions of catching a fish or two or maybe landing a lake record. After having a quick coffee to start and a bit of banter with the staff my rod and tackle was all set up and ready to rock n roll for some Top Predator action.it wasn't long into the morning session and I was into my first fish of the day. Landing a fantastic Amazon Redtail Catfish just under the lake record. As the day moved on mid afternoon and adjusting my depth and trying different baits changing tactics the fish started to sweat...As the bites and fish where constantly on the munch.Landing a total of 10 super fish, banging into some very big Pacu, Aligator Gar and more Red tails, the lake was coming alive captain😁 🙏 When sudenly crash Bang wollop I was into something BIG..Oh yes it was one of the backing singers from the Human Leauge called Shirley the sexy silver and red scaled Arapima which gave me a fantastic hand blistering battle across the lake she went after a 15 min scrap as the sweat was running down my face taking me to my limit before she said don't you want me baby...she decided to unhook herself for another day.me shoutimg out Bollocks at the top of my voice oh dear. 😂 . After a bit of a break and tucking into some great home cooked food I was once again back at it for the evening session as the sun started to go down on the lake the best time of the day , the Predator species where starting to go on the munch. The bites became more freqwent and the fish started to roll in. Landing some cracking Alligator Gar more Red tails followed by some big Pacu.which ended a great days fishing🐟🐠🦈 This is just my experience at Castaway a place where I love yo fish❤ so weather you fish the Predator or the Carp set up or even both (all tackle and bait provided) you will have a super days fishing here. So pull up a chair bring you wife, girlfriend, or palls and settle down for an experience of a life time for a super smashing day with great banter and make some new friends along the way and be waited on hand and foot, maybe you will land your Dream catch of a...
Read moreSo far, after visiting four of Pattaya's fishing parks Castaway F.P has been by far the best. The layout means you can enjoy your own private fishing station. The diversity of species was eye opening too for a relatively small pond. I caught at least five new species including the target species! An elusive araphima on the last cast at 7pm!😎 It's a peaceful and tranquil setting with a lot of shade, helpful staff and thumping big fish!. The carp outfits are Shimano baitrunners matched with audible line alarms. These alarms abruptly break the silence when they wail in protest against the barnstorming opening runs of mega carp and paccu. The staff were great- this is the only fishing park (I've visited) where you aren't hounded to buy extra luxuries every few minutes. In fact, at Pattaya Fishing Park (at Jomtien) I ended up spending a similar total price just to catch catfish. When you visit make sure to select the 3500baht carp/predator package. This combination of baits and gear covers all bases as there are quality fish waiting to attack both bread and flesh. I would have caught about ten fish and lost a similar number throughout the day🤩. If you enjoy fishing or even a relaxing day outdoors put Castaway as a 'must do'...
Read moreA fantastic day, the fishing park is about 15 minutes by car from Pattaya. The pond is about 1 x Rai (1/4acre), with two waterside fishing decks, both well shaded. The park is operated by 2 x British expats, Peter and John. Our fishing guide was Peter's son Luke. An absolute champion, was very knowledgeable, identifying the species upon hook up, just by the actions of the fish once hooked. He provided tips on rod height and techniques to land tge fish. The water was very well stocked, with finglings everywhere, and even some cheeky Siamese Carp playing around under the fishing decks. We caught about five Siamese Carp all around 70cm in length. Caught 5 or 6 small mouthed carp around 30-45cm. Two Redtail Catfish were landed both around 100cm, (photos attached). We had two or three hooks ups but they went into their hidey holes in the banks, identified as being Redtail Catfish, smashing the meat baits, feeling a lot bigger than any we landed. We also got a pacu around 50cm, and a couple other catfish. Cost was 3500 bht/pp, included bread and dead fish baits. Great rods and egg beater reels. Meat rods had a float, whilst the 'bread' rod had a barbless hook and a...
