I guess we caught these guys at a bad time compared to some of the other reviews as our experience was not so good. We had the full day enduro booked. The hotel pickup was timely with no issues. However, upon arrival at their location we experienced issues right away. There was a lot of confusion and, for some unknown reason, much urgency to get changed an out immediately. I was given old, smelly gear that should have been retired years ago. My boots were actually held together with decking screws. The boots and gear was wet, and I was hoping it was from a recent wash, but the smell attested otherwise. Our bikes were literally the worst bikes I’ve ever ridden in over 30 years of enduro riding. My wife had a bike with a blown-out front fork (completely obvious, oil pouring out), and my bike looked like someone had thrown it off a cliff. The tires were nearly bald (made it tough to hill-climb). My rear shock was dead and resulted in constant bottoming which meant I had to baby the thing all day. We tried to ask about other bikes, but nobody spoke any English so it was tough. They really wanted us to leave immediately, so it was a frantic grab-and-go. We thought this was because we were in a group with other riders, but it was just us.
Our guide seemed nice enough, but he didn’t speak any English. I mean none – not a single word. I get it – we’re in Thailand, and our Thai is not the greatest. However, we were told when we paid a deposit that we’d have an English-speaking guide. That’s a bit of a bait-and-switch. Once we started riding, we meandered along lots of paved roads and then some pretty wide, flat dirt roads. Most of the area was strewn with garbage. We actually rode past a huge, open garbage dump. The smell was so bad I started dry-heaving into my helmet. Our guide spent most of the time trying to ride wheelies which was really quite humorous because he could seem to do so with out plowing into things. The most exciting part of the morning was dodging the stray dogs that seemed to like sleeping in the middle of the dirt roads.
For the “included” lunch, we stopped at a local hole-in-the-wall Thai place. I was actually quite happy as we pulled in because some of the reviews mention western food. We definitely wanted local Thai. Unfortunately, after the waiter (who spoke some English) translated from our guide we found out the “The owner say no more than 300 baht each!” So, we ordered the only thing on the menu that was 300 baht (a rice bowl). We couldn’t even have a water. I finished the last water bottle I had with me on the ride and had nothing else to drink the rest of the ride which was absolutely unsafe. We actually had to cut the day short because of the lack of water. If the owner of Enduro Madness reads this – shame on you!
We did go to the “waterfall” and the “expert” trails, none of which are even remotely impressive. Once again, lots of garbage. The most exciting part of the day was when our guide rode into a ditch and could get his bike out. I had to help him, much to his chagrin.
Having ridden all over the world, owned many bikes (including the same make/model I rode that day), I can say this is not worth the money – not even close. It’s not an experience for experienced riders. Perhaps riding the 4x4s with your kids might be fun, but the enduro part is...
Read moreWe joined a daytime enduro tour, and it was absolutely amazing! We rode from 10:00 to 13:00, then had a lunch break, and continued from 14:00 to 16:30.
Since we are vegetarians, our guide kindly took us to a shop where we could buy everything we wanted. Afterwards, he brought us to a cozy café, where we enjoyed our meal in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. 🙏
I’d like to mention that my wife had never ridden a motorcycle before, but here she managed to learn from the very first time! Of course, I helped her a little since I already know how to ride, but if you don’t speak English, it might be a bit difficult at the beginning to understand the instructions. Still, she was given a separate field for practice, and once she became more confident, we went out on different exciting trails. Even though it was her very first time, she handled all the obstacles with ease, even the challenging ones! 👏
I also got to ride on some more difficult sections myself, which gave me a huge amount of positive emotions.
Special thanks to our guide Pon — he is very friendly, patient, and explained everything really well. If you go on this tour, make sure to ask for him!
⚠️ Tip: bring a change of clothes with you, because after the ride it feels great to change into something clean. There are showers available on site.
I wish the organizers further success with these tours — it was an unforgettable...
Read moreRecently I participated in the eight day package offered by Enduro Madness with Wan and “Mr Monster” as our guides. We participated in the back to base tour opposed to the overnight camping option. Our crew ranged from professional riders to me a more novice rider.
The tour saw us ride in forests and farmland trails between Pattaya and Rayong, with scenic climbs across multiple terrains. Some terrains were a bit too difficult for me however I was looked after and taken on modified routes where I wasn’t comfortable.
The tour itself included accomodation, transfers, daily pickup from hotel, a welcome dinner and show at a traditional Thai restaurant 5 days of two wheel action (including lunch stops at local restaurants) a day trip to the islands on a speed boat and the option of ATV or buggie scenic half day trip.
The whole experience was epic. As a rider who hadn’t been on a bike for some time, I felt I was looked after for the entirety of the trip without pressure of keeping up with the pros. Our hosts and the base staff were super accomodating, we arrived back to base to refreshments and our gear washed nightly (we brought our own gear but they have everything so you can optionally bring your own gear). The bikes are like brand new, are checked everyday and serviced after each trip.
I would give this tour a 10/10, we’re already planning to come back...
