Tham Khao Phlu Hot Spring — Attraction in Chumphon Province

It was almost closing time when I arrived and apparently I was the only visitor. the place is somewhat isolated and looked like it was just picking up business after being abandoned. Entry fee for a private room with a large tub was THB100, and an extra THB40 for purchase of body scrub. I wouldn’t rate it as much in terms of looks but rather the health benefits. The Tub is filled up with a mix of hot and hot cold water though PVC pipes and temperature control is done by closing or opening any of the pipes valves to limit the flow. They should monitor the public pool because I saw a woman wet her hair in the pool & shampoo/conditioning and then diving in the pool. Some people smoking & blasting the music. A man doing his laundry and hanging his clothes. They look all regular customers because they were talking together and don’t mind those activities. I try not to use often because of it and if I do I need to leave quickly to avoid those nuisances. I usually take pictures for my review but I’m afraid I may offend them.

Small place, poorly maintained. Paid 20b for a ticket, which granted access to the outdoor public pool. No place to change clothes or hang up dry clothes, so I changed in a little toilet room. There are some wooden lockers that years ago succumbed to termites, but I definitely wasn't putting my stuff in one of those. The water in the pool was hot and clean though, good for a short soak. Did not do the nature walk of try one of the private tub rooms. Not hard to get to, just off the highway, so no time is wasted if you decide not...
