Phuket Mining Museum — Attraction in Kathu

The next rooms cover topics such as the formation of the universe, mineral formation, and prehistoric times. Then, you’ll find exhibits on tin mining techniques, including digging wells, creating large open pits (like the lake), and sifting riverbed sand. The process of refining and transporting tin via large boats is also displayed.

Further along, there’s a section simulating life in Phuket, featuring everyday items, shops, pharmacies, a stage, and even an opium den. Other rooms display traditional clothing and architecture, as well as a library with images from the coronation of the Thai king.
