We thought we would go to see what the Bat Cave was like close up so walked right into it. It’s a steep tricky climb, not for the feint hearted, but well worth the effort. We made sure we were back down in the car park 20 minutes before dusk so we could see the mass exodus from the cave. It was an incredible sight. Well worth the journey to see.
Top tip we followed was to park in the Car park and watch the first 10 minutes from there. Then walk 100 meters to the car park entrance road to be able to see the cloud of Bats flying out across the fields.
There are a couple of shops selling drinks and snacks plus a toilet block. Also quite a few good “Selfie” locations...

Bat Cave in Phu Pha Man is an amazing natural wonder. Every evening, millions of bats fly out of the cave in a long, twisting stream across the sky — an incredible sight you will never forget. The show usually happens around sunset and lasts for almost an hour.
The area around the cave is peaceful, surrounded by mountains and nature, perfect for photography and relaxation. Local people are welcoming, and there are small stalls nearby for snacks and drinks.
If you enjoy nature and unique experiences, this place is a must-see when visiting Khon Kaen.

Every day bats wake up at the same time and thousand of them are flying somewhere away in the same direction. There are so many of them that their exit lasts at least 40 minutes, so you have plenty of time to see this "river" from the different angles. There are many parkings and viewponts around.
