"No garden without its weeds." If you really need to have a reality check and meet the ugly part of Lanta, just try visiting Khlong Chak bat cave and the so called waterfall. When you arrive you'll encounter a stoned agressive guy, yelling after you for money, because he feels ignored if you don't need his wasted guidance. Thai Police and tourism authority should take proper measures there. The free weed and drugs has corupted part of the young Thai people. Everywhere in the area smells like weed and see stoned tourists and young locals. We left immediately as we felt not confortable around these young gangs....

Great hike into the jungle about 2 Km along a winding river bank and you will come across the cave. We were there around noon so not too many bats. If you were there around nightfall I imagine there would be quite a few. A little bit further and you will find a small little waterfall. Once again we were there during the dry season so the waterfall wasn't very impressive but during the rainy season it would be much better. Great...

Great day out and cheap to do so. Don't bother with a tour guide as part of the fun is finding the waterfall and if you follow the trails it's pretty straight forward. Tour guide was charging 300 TBH per person. Parking is 20BHT per scooter and no entrance fee. Waterfall was nice to look at and great to get wet or have some pics. There's also a little cave on the way where we seen bats and a massive spider lurking...

Nice walk through the jungle, we saw monkeys along the way but unfortunately no bats in the cave. Definitely bring good shoes, not just flip flops. The cave is only a quick detour from walking to the waterfall, so still worth a shot when in the area.

Great place for a short, lite tracking! Butiful surroundings and easy to find! The locals try to pushing you to hire a guide otherwise you get lost but it's almost impossible to miss the track and usually lot of visitors on the path anyway... ;-)
