HORRIBLE experience! No idea why this place has really great ratings?!?!

First off, there are NO WORKING BATHROOMS. None of the toilets flush and literally all of them had piles of human feces sitting in the bowls. One of the toilets was completely taken apart and literal pieces were coming out & not connected to anything.... Obviously no toilet paper or soap either. Absolutely disgusting.

Secondly, both the water and the beach were oversaturated with people (tourists). It brought a new meaning to the phrase "packed like sardines". You couldn't even enjoy the snorkeling because there were just too many people everywhere.

Regarding snorkeling, it was mid at best. The fish were extremely aggressive and I was bit multiple times even though I was peacefully & quietly floating in the water above them. The fish and reef weren't a spectacle either; pretty disappointing to look at honestly. Tip: Go to Hawaii if you want an actual snorkeling adventure.

Additionally, the beach itself (along with a few meters of sand into the ocean) is full of small stones, shell pieces, and fragments of coral. Definitely bring some kind of water shoe or sand shoe to wear at all times.

Overall, my experience at Bamboo Island was a negative one. I highly recommend that you AVOID this place and spend your time elsewhere (where you will actually enjoy). I am certain I will never...

The Phi Phi Islands are a tropical paradise that continues to captivate with their stunning natural beauty. Iconic vistas and dramatic limestone cliffs are best appreciated in the early morning at Maya Bay, or from the panoramic viewpoints overlooking Loh Dalum and Tonsai villages.

For adventure seekers and marine life lovers, diving and snorkeling spots like Hin Klang and Shark Point offer vibrant coral reefs and clear waters teeming with sea life. The water clarity has noticeably improved in recent years thanks to conservation efforts.

There’s no shortage of things to do—cliff-jumping at Tonsai Bay, hiking to the Phi Phi Viewpoint, island hopping to spots like Bamboo Island, and beach parties and nightlife for those seeking energy after sunset.

On the food front, the island has become increasingly diverse. Tonsai Village offers everything from local street food to cafes like Phi Phi Bakery, and even Mediterranean and international cuisine—something to suit every palate.

Overall, Phi Phi Islands strike a great balance between natural wonder, adventure, and convenience—whether you’re there to explore,...

The perfect spot for a day trip. The water at bamboo island is very clear but the beach sand is coarse. Closer to the beach, the island is almost entirely surrounded by colourful coral reefs hence, Bamboo Island hosts great snorkelling opportunities. While swimming on the beach, you have a feel as if you are swimming in an aquarium with small finned & vibrant colourful fishes.

The stunning tropical hotspot is a perfect gateway and attracts a huge tourist groups. Towards the mid of the island you can find shacks/restaurants/medical facilities/restrooms where you can sit and enjoy your time.

Due to the fact Bamboo Island belongs to a national park, please note that you’ll to pay a 400/200 baht (adult/child) entrance fee to get there. The fee is paid in cash at the pier before you board the boat.

*Take your snorkelling gear with you on the way to Bamboo Island if you wish to have an awesome experience. You can even ask your Speed boat crew to arrange the same for you. **Do not forget to take...

You can buy the trip on the same day. It is advised to go with more people because the taxi price is the same. Make sure to bargain the price. We booked 3 hours and it felt little time at the island, because there is a long travel time. I think 4 hours would’ve been better. You have to pay 400 baht per person to get to the beach, which we found out before leaving the boat. Our driver collected the fee but to be honest im not sure if he payed the fee or just kept the money. There is a counter in the island to pay, but no one seems to care if you dont. The beach is very clean and spacious. Beware of the rush hour with all the big tour boats carrying lots lf people. The sun was very strong they day we went. There are trees that provide shadow but are far away from the water. The sea was not very calm and lots of waves. We couldnt use our snorkels. But other days might be better. Bring your own food and water because there are no stores available. Bottomline, its a great place to spend a few hours.

The island was really beautiful and I loved that it was a national park so that the nature could not be harmed by tourists and big businesses as much as some of the other islands in the area. The beach is good for a refreshing dip in the water rather than a swim as it is open ocean. Our tour particularly warned us not to step on a stingray and of an animal that comes out onto the beach and wants to run back to the trees. There’s not much bamboo on the island due to it being taken in the past for its resource usefulness, but it’s a beautiful small island that you can walk from one end to the other relatively easily. There is a very small shop with hamburgers, hot dogs, crisps, beer and other Coca Cola branded drinks. There is also a toilet there. Please don’t except there to be anything else here, it’s a national park and is best to be treated as such. There was an entry fee with the tour booking to access the national parks.
