The view is beautiful, the place itself is a total disappointment. So, Id say save your 70 baht per person and spend them somewhere (pretty much anywhere would be a better deal).
Now, details: this is the most expensive viewpoint in the area (70 baht per farang). While the view is gorgeous - it is same gorgeous from any other viewpoint in the area. They charge "maintenance fee" (yet no tickets are issued, it's all cash and Im really curious how much of these "maintenance" money goes to actual maintenance (judging by the look of the place itself - bare minimum) or even simply declared and taxed.
We arrived around 6am, the lady at the entrance weren't capable to calculate 70x3 and did not want to let us throw for our 210 baht. After parking and paying maintenance fee we went up (yes, right, the most expensive viewpoint cafe is the only one in the area that doesn't maintain the road to the top lol). It's about 5 minutes steep uphill. At the top at the cafe we took pretty much the last sitting places. I counted about 70 people there which are a lot. The place is more of a"expectations vs reality" thing. Most sits are arranged in a way that you see not only the view, but backs of other people as well. The place itself is rundown, the palm trees from the roof are blown away, holes in the floor, even the sign is cracked and missing parts of the plastic letters. We did not risk trying food after reading the reviews but it was fun to see that most drinks and plates people left were not finished lol Additional bonus: while you trying to enjoy birds singing and people talking (sarcasm), they run a mixer crashing ice for the shakes. It was loud.
Overall this is the most disappointing establishment Ive been to in Krabi.
2 stars just for the view. Place itself is not worth...
Read moreI have been to Krabi before but I have not heard about this viewpoint. It was by accident that I discovered it on Google Maps. I can absolutely recommend to go there - here is some tips for you:
⢠Go there very early in the morning. I arrived at the location at 5:30am (this is also when the park opens).
⢠The way to the location is a little off-road but trust the process, Google Maps will lead you to the entry.
⢠I am a solo traveller and I did not book a tour for this. In my opinion you should just rent a motorcycle and drive there on your own. From Ao Nang it takes around 20min.
⢠When you arrive there you will see a parking sign - follow this until you arrive in the parking area. There you can buy the entry ticket (50 THB).
⢠I directly made my way up to the top. I was the first one up there and in my opinion some people who arrived there later âmissed the best part.â
⢠For the way up it does make sense to wear sneakers and no flip flops etc since it is still dark when you go up and the way is pretty stony and âadventurous.â It is not far to get up, but pretty steep - in total it takes maybe 10mins depending on how fit you are.
⢠The viewpoint is easy to find since there are many signs along the 500m way. It might make sense to bring a flashlight though if your mobile phone does not offer such functionality to be able to read and see the signs when itâs still too dark.
⢠When you make it to the viewpoint there is also a cafÊ where you can have breakfast.
⢠If you do not want to go early in the morning you can also go during the opening hours of the park at daytime.
Hope this helps! Enjoy the view at this...
Read moreDin Daeng Doi, - is a truly magical spot that should be experienced in the early morning. We woke up early, hopped on our scooter, and arrived at 5:30 AM when the site opens. Itâs better to arrive early than late, as catching the right moment is essential to fully appreciate the surroundings awakening. The entrance fee is 100 baht, and you are transported up to the viewpoint by car. At the top, thereâs a small place where you can buy coffee and breakfast. Iâve seen many sunrises around the world, but this spot is among the most breathtaking. While I love watching the sunrise over the ocean, Din Daeng Doi offers something uniquely special. A thick blanket of mist covers the jungle, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. You can hear the jungle coming alive as the sun slowly rises behind a stunning mountain on...
