A couple of days ago, I visited Klang Cave, which is located about an hour’s drive from Krabi, halfway between Krabi and Phuket. I was looking for a unique spot to explore, and Klang Cave did not disappoint. The cave is quite far from the city, but the journey was absolutely worth it.

Entry to the cave costs 250 Baht per person, and it’s definitely value for money. You get a guide who provides a helmet with a light, which is essential because the cave is completely dark inside. The guide was knowledgeable and helped make the experience even more enjoyable.

The cave itself is stunning. The rock formations and the interior chambers are breathtaking, offering a sense of wonder and adventure. The natural beauty and the quiet atmosphere inside the cave make the visit truly special. It’s an experience that’s both thrilling and peaceful at the same time.

I highly recommend visiting Klang Cave if you’re staying in Krabi. Just make sure to go early in the day, as exploring the cave after sunset isn’t advisable due to the lack of natural light and the difficulty of navigating in the dark. Overall, it’s a hidden gem that’s absolutely worth the trip and offers a memorable adventure for anyone...

We read another review on here, giving 3 stars about this being really scary and the guides not speaking English, which honestly just felt like an injustice to these guides and the incredible tour they gave us. This is not a guided tour to cater to Holiday Makers, this is a family who safely take you around a frankly dangerous place. We didn't see snakes but even without them, I really wouldn't suggest you go unguided.

250baht per person - Helmet, Bright Head Torch, and the most considerate local guides you've had or a close second.

The Cave was incredible, the banter between very broken English and us knowing next to no Thai was endearing.

While obviously I wouldn't suggest going later than the specified opening times, we got there just after 4pm worried they couldn't show us around, but they still made plenty of time for us.

Read a lot of reviews before coming about needing to go in deep water, but perhaps it's super weather dependent as this wasn't our experience.

Advice for clothing is definitely to bring stuff you don't mind getting a bit muddy and sturdy shoes, but it's only as occasionally mud is on something you touch...

This was an excellent cave to explore - you really do not anticipate just how large this cavern is until you get into the first chamber and start shining your light around. Also, it might actually be worth it to get a guide! Even with the map they provide, this cave can be very confusing. When you see signs that are written in red with a circle and a dash through it, these are actually saying 'Stop' in Thai. It would be wise to listen!

P.S. The woman and the family that collects fees for entering this cave actually 'own' it - we were surprised by this. We thought because she did not have a license or something similar from the tourism ministry that it was a scam - anyways, she can be negotiated with. We entered for about 130THB per person, and if you are really on a budget I'd suggest trying lower.

Fun story; she said her father discovered the cave about 30 years ago. He spent 8 hours inside it once - and somehow found his way up the mountain it is located in. Nobody has done this since, according to...

Absolutely incredible. It blows other stalactite caves I’ve seen around the world out of the water. A huge warren of caverns with stalactites/stalagmites at every stage of formation, from tiny needles to two-storey giants. And very few visitors - we went on a Sunday in high season and there was just one other couple. One of my most memorable travel experiences *ever*. Yes - you need both arms and legs in good working order to get through (prosthetic limbs may be fine, but I don’t have them so can’t say for sure), and it might be hard going if you’re on the larger side as there are a few small crannies. But you couldn’t make this place more easily accessible without destroying parts of it to build walkways and staircases. Ignore the reviews that complain about steps and boards in poor repair - if you aren’t willing to rough it a little, go to Disneyland instead.
