Very beautiful but fee is fairly expensive (200 bht for tourists) if you are just going for view. The drive to the park is lovely and you can stop off at various view points along the way with just one road from about 10 km out. The park entrance is at the top of a very steep slope down if there are two of you on a ped they do struggle to get back up even with the tarmac road ( I ended up walking back up whilst husband drove).
We didn’t explore the hiking trails but it did look like they were well sign posted and offered good options. We did see a couple of motorbikes parked before the entrance and wondered if people had hiked in to avoid the fee.
Once in there is parking for peds and cars, a cafe, a dive centre and toilets.
Five min walk to lighthouse up a steepish slope. Underfoot is loose stones so flip flops might be a bit tricky.
We went at low tide so could get across to get to lighthouse easily, not sure what happens...
Read moreThe Ta Noad Cape Lighthouse is located within the Mu Ko Lanta National Park. The road to the national park is rather easy, a Honda Click 125i with two people is ok. To get there you have to pay an entrance fee, which is 200B for foreigners (100B for children) and 40B for Thai residents (20B for children). In addition, you have to pay a motorbike fee (20B). After purchasing your ticket go down to the parking lot. You will see the lighthouse on the right. It is a short uphill walk. There are beautiful views from the hill. There are also other interesting things you can do there: (1) stop for a while at the beautiful beach of Tha Nod (you can see it from the lighthouse hill) and (2) walk the Nature Trail. On the way to the lighthouse you will pass a small cafe. Officially, the national park closes at 5:30 PM. I have added more photos with my review of the national park and...
Read moreYou can choose to do the short 10 minute park walk to the lighthouse and beach or the 1 hour trail hike. We choose to do the trail hike and if you start from the parking lot the first 400m will be straight climbing. There is a rope to help, and it’s not that challenging if you’ve hiked before. Once you hit the 400m mark, it becomes a walking trail and staircase trail with a designated path. Once you reach the end you are rewarded with an amazing view of the beach as you descend towards the ocean and lighthouse area. I would highly recommend this park!
We went during off season (October 5th) and there were barely any other people there! We maybe saw…10 people total and had the entire hike, beach and lighthouse to ourselves.
Entry fee was 50 baht for Thai and 200 for foreigner during October. You can pay for these at the entry of the park at the...
