Its one of Thailand most lovely photo set with a very dark background. 1000 people died here making this tunnel trough the granit mountain. The German boss and his wife have their ashes here as a honor. Light a candle to honor those who died. Its amazing that you can take the train to the National Park with the same name 1200 meters to the visitor center. You can get supplies here for the camp as well. You can drive from the entrance from the park its 2000 meters turn left when you see 4 signs in Thai next to the sala. There is very few parking here and its steap so watch your driving. You can here the train from the camp site in the park as well. Its free to take photos around...

I can’t really say how many times I have traveled through the Khun Tan Train Tunnel, the first time was probably in the early 1980s. Each time I get just as excited as the first time. My preference is sit in a non-air-conditioned coach with windows wide opened and facing the station, so I can take photos as I travel through the station and the...

This was a fun stop even though it was out of the way. There is a little infrastructure around the train station (e.g., food, restrooms) but mostly it's about walking on the tracks and checking out the longest train tunnel in Thailand. This station is adjacent to a national park.
