Amazing sea of clouds at sunrise. To be able to witness this spectacular view, you have to camp overnight on one of those camp sites at the summit which are all reachable by car, there are basic restaurants, coffee shops and few street vendors. It can get extremely cold and windy at night, right down to 4 degrees for our visit. This place is famous for strong wind "Nam Dang" means Loud Water, the wind sounds like water rushing through stream at night. We rented the national park tents which are only available at campsite E (West facing so you got to see Sunset but have to do a short drive for sunrise). The tent is very basic, some got hole in them and not wind proof at all. All others camping gears (except tent) are available for rent at the main office with small fees, they will hold you ID as a deposit until you return the items. It can be extremely cold so be well prepared. Toilets in campsite E require a steep climb so highly recommended to bring some torchlight and sturdy shoes. Please noted that no alcohol allows in Thai...
Read moreHuai Nam Dang National Park is absolutely breathtaking. The viewpoint at Doi Kiew Lom is famous for a reason – the sea of mist in the early morning with layers of mountains and the silhouette of Doi Luang Chiang Dao in the distance is just magical.
There are camping areas and bungalows available, so you can stay overnight and wake up to the misty sunrise. The weather is cool all year round, especially during the winter months. The facilities are decent, clean, and the staff are friendly.
The drive up is winding but manageable, and totally worth it. There are also nearby hot springs (like Pong Duet) you can visit for a relaxing soak.
Highly recommended for nature lovers, campers, and anyone chasing unforgettable views. Don’t forget your camera – this place is pure Northern...

Huai Nam Dong (Low Water) National Park is famous for its seas of clouds and fog that can be seen every morning between the mountain peaks.
We rented 1 tent, blankets, pillows - we had the rest of our equipment. We spent the night in a tent for four of us with 2 children! The rent cost 500 baht, which is very affordable. And in the morning at dawn we admired the ocean from the fog and felt on top of the world above the clouds!
There are several shops at the campsite with food, hats, and warm clothes!
I bought myself a cool pink hat in the morning because at dawn it was +9 degrees! I'll have to go walk my hat in...
