If you hate animals, here you can enjoy them at their worst: a tiger welcomes you, chained half alive, living his best life as entertainment, the elephants moving around doesn't mean they are being funny or want a picture with you, they are in state of deep mental distress, like a someone in a mental asylum, chained to a pole not being able to move (compared to the km they travel in the wild), the crocodiles are basically not alive, thrown around for the show like plastic toys, the magic show is another display of animal abuse, but with doves and rabbits this time, a little on the light side for the hardcore amateurs of abuse visiting the zoo, again the elephants perform tricks and are exposed to loud noises in a show shocking for 2025. I didn't know such place still existed. I believe those elephants have been completely broken and lost their minds. The public comes to watch a tragedy with a smile.

Oh and humans look just as sad as the animals, I don't blame them and given their working conditions, so really a hellish place if you want to enjoy!

I feel like I traveled back in time a century. I just hope Thailand and the rest of Asia grows out of the worst humankind has to offer when it comes to animals and this place only becomes a bad memory.

There are sooo many things to do in Thailand, why would...

Worst experience in a "zoo" I've ever had. There is blatant animal cruelty and abuse. Every crocodile had wounds on their body from being beaten with sticks by the workers. They hit and kick the crocodiles to make them do what they want during the show. When the show is over, they hit them harder with the sticks to "reset" them. The tiger you could take pictures with at the entrance looked sedated or drugged, the elephants were in the smallest enclosure I've ever seen for an animal that size and were chained around the neck with only enough length to stand still. All the animals looked stressed and abused. I'm thoroughly disgusted with this place and cannot believe people still treat animals this way. Not one creature in their possession looked cared for. I am so disappointed that our tour guide brought us here, we left before the second show he wanted us to see. I couldn't even watch the first 2 minutes of the crocodile show. Please don't give them your money or patronage. They should...

One of the coolest places I've ever been.

The zoo itself is not super huge but there is so much to see and do. The croc show is phenomenal with the performers putting arms and heads into the mouths of real crocs. A must see!

The elephant show is also incredible and fully in English. It explains the historical significance of the Elephant in thai history. The ending is a finale featuring explosions and combat.

The shows are included with the price of admission, snacks for humans and animals are available and very very affordable.

We also rode the Elephant while we were there it was amazing. They will take photos for you on your phone and also sell you a professional photo WITH frame for a very good price.

All in all a great attraction. There are so many crocs here and you can get extremely close to them!

You can also get very close to the Elephants and touch them! They are very friendly.

The animals seem to be well cared for a happy however they do make use of the...

The sadest young, little elephants in chains. I went with my Thai family to see the zoo and it was the saddest experience I had in decades. The zoo is beyond bad in respecting and treating the animals ethically good. Monkeys, lions in too small, tiny cages and the saddest were the young elephants in chains. When you have seen the rescued and free elephants in the sanctuaries in the North and in the South and than see into the sad eyes of the chained young elephants that get hit during the show, that just makes you cry, sad and angry. Dear Samphran Team, rethink, respect and start doing good for the animals. You can do better! I just hope that the smallest and saddest elephant will get rescued soon. All tourists, please don't go there and instead support the ethical elephant sancturaries. Just some meters away is an organic farm - Samphran take that as inspiration! Elephants are the national symbol of luck in Thailand and they should be lucky as well.
